Wetlands Study Unit

Introduction

In this study of wetlands, we will be exploring what wetlands are, how they function as a natural system, and how they are important to people. We will also try to understand why people might make the decision to destroy a wetland even though they know that wetlands provide many benefits to people.

How this web site works

  1. Text for you to read and learn from will be in blue, like this.
  2. Text for you to think about, or places where you should write a response before you continue, will be in red, like this.
  3. Links to other pages on this website will appear in the text like this.
  4. Links to pages outside of this website will either be in a list, or will be inside parentheses like this (get Adobe reader).
  5. When there is a separate printable document, like a worksheet, there will typically be three formats available: Microsoft Word document, Adobe PDF, and a browser compatible html file. If you can open them, the Word format and the PDF format should print without any problem. If you can't open them, then you will have to use the html file; the formatting might be slightly different. The three choices will be in parenthesis like this: (.doc .pdf .htm). Usually the best version is the PDF format; you can get the free Adobe PDF reader from Adobe (get Adobe reader).
